We meet Skye in Landon and Kenna's book and I am so happy that she got her own story because what a whopper! Skye has been slowly crumbling for months under the weight of looking for her missing niece, working, and trying to take care of her devastated sister and grandmother. She comes out of work one night to find her car has been vandalized by the person that has kidnapped her niece. This unsettling occurrence and threat has Landon pulling a favor of one of his old Army buddies, Gabe. He asks Gabe to come come out and be a bodyguard for Skye, to keep an eye out for her when she is home alone.Once Gabe and Skye meet the fireworks between them are hot hot hot. The question is can Skye move past all of her old hurts and new issues enough to trust Gabe and his love? Will she let him in, allowing him a place in her life as well as into her fight to find her niece? As Skye keeps trying to push him away will Gabe finally listen or keep trying to win her trust and love?I love Nicole Snow's writing and I have really been enjoying this series of stories, that are all stand alone stories but with a few overlapping characters keeping the world she has built alive. These characters are deeply scared emotional characters that feel very real. The twists and turns concerning the kidnapping were well done, although I must say I was leaning towards the correct bad guy early, I was still shocked and a little freaked out by how messed up this person really was.Very entertaining read.
